LUMBAGO

Lumbago leads to a sudden, severe back pain in the lumbar spine that leads to immobility.
The cause of the lower back pain may be a blockage in the vertebral or
sacroiliac joint, a herniated disc in the lumbar region, acute muscle tension, or
wear and tear of the vertebral joints.

Inflammatory diagnoses such as Scheuermann’s disease, ankylosing spondylitis and tumorous causes can also cause the acute back pain. In medicine, lumbago is referred to as acute lumbalgia or acute lumbar syndrome. In most cases, the cause of lumbago is a blockage of the small vertebral joints (facet joints), which can become “stuck.” As a rule, the symptoms disappear completely within 2-7 days. If the symptoms persist for longer, it is recommended to consult a specialist.

With the help of SpineMED® therapy, the small vertebral joints can be mechanically unblocked, i.e. “freed.”
